Dark Wings
My new roommate is weird. He hasn’t done anything to me or anyone else, but there is something just off about him. Recently I had to find a roommate in order to help pay my bills and posted an ad on facebook. With my friends gone for the summer, I figured it would be very difficult to find someone, until Dalton came along. Of course I met him before we agreed to anything, and he genuinely seems like a nice guy. He was shorter in height, but jacked as hell! He was handsome and unassuming when you speak to him, but there was this aura of maturity and someone who was a natural leader.
He genuinely seemed like a cool chill guy. After our initial meeting, we went ahead and signed some paperwork and without me even asking, he put down a cash deposit on the Starbucks table. Apparently he was eager for a place to stay for the rest of the semester. Impressed by his willingness to go along with a mid-break change in housing, I accepted.
We continued to talk, exchanging the usual pleasantries in an attempt to learn more about each other. I found out he transferred from another college to a Physical Therapy program. He didn’t have time for games or partying, which was fine by me, and he recently got a job on campus. Other than that, I wasn’t able to get much out of him without directly asking. He seemed somewhat guarded and unsure of his answers, however, I had a wad of cash in my pocket and two months of stress that just disappeared, so I didn’t think much of it. We finished our coffee and he said that he would come by the place the next morning.
As promised, he arrived at my doorstep with a large box and a mattress, which apparently someone dropped off for him. I opened the door and offered a helping hand, however, he politely said no and picked both items up himself. Mattresses are heavy and awkward, but he handled both that and a full box with such ease, it was jaw dropping! A smile stretched across his face as he smoothly carried the large box and mattress by himself up two flights of stairs without even breaking a sweat. That was another thing, the only requirement he had was a door that locked, which I had. Impressed by his strength in carrying everything by himself and not asking for any help, I let him be and went about my day.
It was a few hours later when he finally came down from his new room, just as I was about to pass out watching TV. I sat up, embarrassed at falling asleep. He now wore a black shirt that left little to the imagination. I literally forgot just how muscular he was. His posture was perfect and his movements smooth. I had to gulp. His face was handsome and his eyes intense. His brown hair seemed to frame his smooth model-like features, which almost didn’t match his massive body. If it weren’t for his massive physique, I’d clock him as someone who juuust turned 21 or 22, however, he claimed he was 29 years old.
I wanted to ask if he needed anything and if he was settled in, but when I looked into his dark eyes I stuttered. They were so intense. His eyes made him seem older than he looked. I was immediately aroused.
“. . . ummm . . . so how was it?” I said dumbly. I immediately flushed and sat down, trying to hide my erection. That was weird. I’ve never been that turned on by anyone before. Dalton smiled slightly before heading to the kitchen for some water, using one cup he brought with him from upstairs.
“Everything is perfect. Thank you so much for taking me in.” He watched the water pour into the glass before looking up with that same intense smile. He brought the glass up and slowly, while looking at me, drank the cool liquid in one gulp. The swallowing noise was loud. I watched his jaw flex and ripple before he settled his expression back into that knowing grin. “I know everything was last minute.” He finished.
His arms seemed so thick. His shorts were so tight around his massive quads you could see the striations of his muscle! I stopped staring and looked back at the TV, which was paused on a game I was playing before passing out. “It’s all good man, i’m glad I could help!” I flicked my eyes up and watched as he smoothly washed the glass, dried it, and put it up in the cupboard. His muscles bulged with every smooth movement. His massive hands seemed smooth and inviting. I shook my head before continuing. “By the way, i’m really not that uptight about my stuff. As long as you don’t fuck up my TV and gaming system, should be good. I won’t touch your food, but honestly, I don’t care if you have some of mine.”
I tried a nervous laugh while maintaining my fake attention to the game. He stood there for a moment just staring at me. He hung his head finally with a smile and simply thanked me, but said he wouldn’t be any trouble and would keep to himself. Before I could probe him for answers he was already making his way up the stairs without a word. I watched as his thick ass and massive calves worked with each step. I sighed and looked down at my tenting pants. “Fuck.” I muttered to myself. “This was going to be interesting.”
-------------------
The next morning I woke up to my phone going off. Apparently my friend Sophie wanted to stop by and drop off a few things for her upcoming party. I crawled out of bed and brushed my teeth. That’s when I heard a weird growl from outside my door. At first I was confused, then I heard it again and followed by footsteps that seemed to go down the hall. I rolled my eyes wondering if Dalton brought a pet to the apartment. I told him pets were not allowed as a part of the lease. I threw on some shorts and a shirt and whipped open the door. I walked down the hallway towards his room. Expecting the door to be locked, I noticed it was wide open.
For such a secretive guy, it was kinda surprising he would have the door open like this. I looked down the hall at the guest bathroom, and didn’t see anyone. I knocked on the doorframe and announced that I was coming up. I didn’t hear a response, so I slowly started to make my way up. I thought I heard . . . something, but it wasn’t anything more than a snapping noise, like the sound a rubber glove makes. As my head crested the stairway to the loft area, Dalton was standing in front of his bed shirtless.
I gulped for a second, taking in his sexy smooth muscular body. I weakly smiled and nodded his way, quickly navigating the last few steps as I pretended to take in the room. He just stood there smiling, watching me look around. “You like it?” He asked calmly. Honestly, there wasn’t much in the room to like. Just a side table for his lamp and one mattress, which sat on top of an extra bed frame my previous roommate left behind.
I thought the sound came from the room, but there was nothing under the bed, which I checked out coming up the stairs. I looked around puzzled but tried to smile and look impressed with how clean everything was. My eyes rested on the closet for a moment, however, I saw him look at me with confusion. “Sorry for interrupting you man, I thought I heard something, so I just wanted to see if you heard something too. The room looks great tho!” I said cheerfully, trying not to sound accusatory.
Dalton just shook his head. “No man, I haven’t heard anything. Did you want to check downstairs?” He said innocently, taking a few steps towards me. His sexy body kept drawing my eyes. He walked right up close to me, so close I could almost feel his body heat. He stared into my eyes then brushed by me to head down the stairs.
I swallowed, taking in a big breath before turning around. As I was about to follow the sexy man out, my eyes caught sight of the closet door. That must be where he stored his clothes . . . and perhaps may be the perfect hiding place for a secret pet. I shook my head and continued down the stairs. I really needed to stop assuming the worst in people. If it was something that was going to be a problem, then maybe I would confront him.
“Dude, I just can’t believe how little you packed!” I said, trying to act more casual as I brushed by him. He smiled and closed the door behind us as we continued our way downstairs. He went to the cabinet and pulled out that one mug he brought with him, again filling it with water. I watched as the gray sweat-shorts fell a bit down his perfectly muscled, toned, ass. I felt my boner start to creep up, so I turned around to pretend I was looking around the living room. “So what are your plans this weekend?” I said casually.
He walked into the living room with that same calm knowing smile etched across his perfect facial features. He admired me for a second before responding. “I usually like to grab a coffee and do some work.” He paused and peered out the window at the sunny day outside. “Just take the day in ya know?” He said cooly as he walked further into the living room towards the stairs. “I’d invite you to join, but i’m sure that’s not your idea of fun.” He finished with a smile.
Just then there was a knock at the front door. I completely forgot about Sophie. “That’s my friend, she is just dropping something off!” I said quickly before running to the door. As the door swung open, Sophie’s little dog came running in! Sophie had an annoying habit of letting her dog off the leash so he could ‘explore campus’. The dog pushed past my ankles and ran right up to Daltons feet with a weird growl! Dalton turned away quickly as if to run before freezing in his tracks. I swear I heard a low growl as he put his arms up and his thick muscles tensed up. Not just tense up, it was like every muscle in his back rippled and shifted under his skin as he froze like a cat. His body stood inhumanly rigid with his arms up, clearly terrified!
Sophie just stood there admiring Daltons perfect ass hanging out of his short before she snapped out of her trance, brushing past me calling out the dogs name. “I’m so sorry!” She said apologetically. “I swear he doesn’t bite!” She said, quickly snatching the little dog up in her arms. The little dog bared his teeth and tried to lash out at Dalton, practically jumping out of her arms! This behavior was completely unlike the little guy. I stepped in between Dalton and the dog and asked her to just go outside over the flurry of shrill barking and Sophie’s yelling. In those seconds of chaos, I glanced at Daltons face, which was contorted in an almost vicious glare towards the dog. Sophie was paying more attention to the dog at this point, but I was left almost stunned for a moment before Sophie flung the door open to go outside. Without another glance, and a quick, “sorry bout that” I ran after her.
As I shut the door, I heard Sophie scold her dog. “Parker!!!” She spat out, practically shaking the little dog in her arms. I noticed the bag of stuff she dropped on the doorstep and picked it up for her as I let out a loud sigh.
“Jesus Christ Sophie! What the hell was that about?” I said, genuinely confused by how the dog was acting.
“I know, I’m SORRY! I have no fucking idea why he is being such a little asshole today!” She said desperately. “I’ve had roommates before, and he has never acted like this towards anyone.” She was so apologetic and clearly embarrassed. “NO TREATS FOR YOU PARKER!” She scolded again. The dog seemed to have calmed down, so she hooked him up to the leash before continuing our conversation. “Again, I’m so sorry! I feel like I really freaked out your roommate, do you think he is ok?” She asked with concern, looking up at the front of the house as if she could see him. “I think he was mad at me.” She said with a worried look.
“I know, it’s ok! I had no idea he was so scared, otherwise I would have given you a heads up.” I tried to counter, as I looked in the bag. Some items for the party I guessed. After some small talk, she stared at me with a devilish smile.
“You know, he is cute. That BODY!” She exclaimed with a wink before playfully pushing me. She let out a giggle as I blushed hard. I smiled and nodded, acknowledging the implication. I told her what I knew of him and she frowned a bit.
“He honestly sounds kinda boring.” She said with an arched eyebrow. “And he seems too private.” Her eyes lit up mischievously. “Maybe he is a drug dealer? Nobody THAT hot is studying every weekend.” She said looking back up at the house with a devilish laugh.
Listen, it sounds like he is really busy during the week, so maybe relaxing at a coffee shop is his idea of fun. I just met the guy a few days ago, so i’m still getting to know him. That seemed to satisfy Sophie enough, to the point where she smiled and made another comment about how cute he was. Eventually we said our goodbyes and I went back into the house.
I walked into the living room towards the kitchen and saw Dalton by the window just staring outside. There was a tension in the air, like he was mad at me. His perfectly sculpted back was turned a bit to me and he didn’t seem to notice me at first. Then as I crossed the threshold into the kitchen he slowly turned his face to me. His handsome features were cool and placid again. A stark difference from the rage I sensed previously.
“Dalton, I’m really sorry man. I didn’t know she had the dog with her!” I said quickly, feeling bad for how scared he was. For a second he just stared at me then let out a sigh.
“No, it should have been me that apologizes. You did nothing wrong. I never told you my fear of dogs and cats. I . . . just never liked them, and i’ve had more than one attack me before, so I just . . . freak out.” He looked back up at me with his big brown eyes, his perfectly scalped body seeming to glisten in the morning sunlight.
I just stuttered something along the lines of “it’s all good”. The moment seemed so . . . intimate for some reason, and I could feel my impending arousal. Dalton just turned around and walked by me. He paused for just a second, resting his large hand on my shoulder before walking upstairs again to his room. I stared out the window, half aroused, but also kinda freaked out as I pictured the look on his face when the dog was barking at him. His features looked so . . . ravenous. Just the way his muscles moved and the way he bared his teeth was just so . . . unnatural. It sent a shiver down my spine. It was such a weird contrast between the arousal I felt and the fear I seemed to have.
That was the last time I saw him all weekend since I was in and out, going to parties and running errands with friends. As I was out and about, I swear I saw him walking around town a few times. At night, I would hear him come in and walk upstairs late at night, but I was either too tired or too drunk to pay much attention. I didn’t see him again until Wednesday night.
-------------------
I was at the gym doing my usual when I saw Dalton talking to some guy at the gym, my gym! He smiled and massaged the guys shoulder. There was an eagerness in his eyes that I never saw before. He also looked different. His was just as jacked as always, but he looked . . . tired. Don’t get me wrong, he still was handsome as ever, but his skin looked wrinkled and tight. Veins popped out around his shoulders and there were lines over his usual porcelain smooth face. There was a wildness about him that seemed way more animated than i’ve ever seen him. He usually comes across so smooth and soft spoken, but I could hear his deep voice carry across the gym. His smile seemed so forced and he was far more affectionate towards others then I gave him credit for.
I shook my head and went about my business. It’s weird, i’ve been going to this gym for months now and never saw him once. A strange part of me was kinda jealous that he was clearly hitting on someone else, but I had no idea why. I rolled my eyes. “Common, you’re being stupid.” I mumbled to myself as I did another set. I sat up to catch my breath when it caught in my throat. Dalton stood before me just looking at me.
He wore a bright blue cutoff shirt that seemed to hang from his bulging shoulders and traps. His face was so handsome . . . it even looked smoother than before. Almost like he pulled his own face back tight after talking to that guy earlier. That stare seemed to pierce into my soul. He slowly and intentionally walked towards me with that knowing, intense look he always seems to have. That sense of intensity and eagerness didn’t seem to lessen when he finally spoke.
“Being stupid about what?” He asked in a low voice. Apparently his hearing was superhuman as well. I blushed and hung my head for a moment laughing.
“Nothing man, just boy problems.” I said in a defeated tired tone. I swear this guy is getting bigger. His shoulders and arms seemed so much larger than when I saw him during the weekend. He stood there allowing a tight smile to stretch across his face. He walked closer and asked if I needed a spot. I accepted.
“Boy issues huh?” He said with a smirk as he lifted the barbell up by himself and waited for me to grab the weight. I whistled playfully as I got into position. “Do you have a boy in your life?” He asked, still eyeing me as if I were the only one in the gym at that moment.
I coughed and finally pushed up to relieve the weight from his hands. “Not a conventional way to spot you show off.” I said with a smile as I did my reps. He just smiled and watched with one smooth large hand resting on the bar. He moved closer, his hip closer to my forehead. I could feel the heat radiating from his thighs. “Na, just a guy I like. No biggie.” I grunted as I racked the weight. I had to sit up now, afraid that my growing boner would show itself through my sweats. Dalton slowly moved around to face me.
“What a lucky guy.” He said smoothly with a wink before turning around. “I’ll see you at home roomie!” He said with a wave as he walked away. His thick thighs and massive feet flexed smoothly with every intentional step. For such an intense serious guy, that was surprisingly playful and flirty. The message was not missed. I smiled and continued my workout, quickly.
---------------------
I rushed home, but he wasn’t there. I was a little bummed honestly. I thought he wanted me to . . . follow his lead essentially, but that clearly wasn’t the case. I only saw bits and pieces of Dalton for the next few weeks. I would occasionally catch him as he was leaving or sometimes in the morning slipping his shoes on. Whatever he did, he always seemed to have something to do . . . except Wednesdays and Thursdays during the day.
Besides his weird social life, I have also been hearing strange noises at night from upstairs. At first I thought it was a loud cough or maybe the TV, but they were inhuman noises. Like the sound of a stray dog growling or the sound of meat tearing late at night. It was none of my business so I never said anything. Dalton himself seemed completely fine the next morning when I did catch him before he made his way out the door. I never saw anyone else coming in or out of the house. Dalton never eluded to hearing anything, and frankly, I didn’t want to ask.
Dalton also had a weird schedule, specifically Thursdays nights. He always seemed to be so worn out by the time Thursday came around, I swear I thought he was sick. But every Thursday night he would go out until almost dawn, and look completely refreshed and normal the following morning. This happened every week, like clock-work. The difference was staggering. He always looked so muscular normally, but especially larger in size, and more . . . vascular, like snakes making their way under his skin by the time Thursday came along. Wrinkles formed under his eyes and around his neck and armpits and he would seem more . . . intense and animated . . . almost desperate. He would laugh harder than he should have or smile wider than he needed to when I made a joke. It was unnerving. Thursday mornings were the worst. Like clockwork, he would come down, take a drink of water, then make his way upstairs, not to be seen again until he left late Thursday night.
Today was one of those Thursdays, and I waited for Dalton to come down from his bedroom like he did every morning. As my eyes focused on a youtube video on my phone, I heard the floorboard creak as his massive muscular body slowly walked by me. I could almost feel his energy. I looked up, his socks seemed to spread wide on the floor as his calves twisted and shifted with each step. He clenched his jaw and rolled his neck before taking his one mug out of the cabinet and filling it with water. I watched intently as he tilted his head back, stretching his mouth wide as he gulped the entire glass of water as he always did. Another weird thing he did.
His arm flexed as he wiped his pillowy lips with his massive hand. He looked up at me, and that’s when I quickly looked away, hoping to not be noticed. I heard him crack his shoulders before he washed and set his cup back into the cupboard. I didn’t hear anything so I chanced a glance back up at him and he seemed to be spaced out staring out the window. God he was so hot, even as tired as he seemed. His massive legs were cut off by his tight tan shorts and his chest pushing against his short sleeve shirt. He looked up at the sky, then his head jerked down as he heard a dog bark far off in the distance. The look on his face was surprising. It was twisted into an eager smirk. It was a look of ill will . . . towards the barking dog. A look that said . . . “i’m going to get you.”
He lifted one of his vascular legs up on a chair as he stared out the window and I watched in fascination as he absent mindedly pulled a bit of his skin on his leg and stretched it up towards him like you would a pair of tights. The skin snapped back into place. This wasn’t the first time I've seen him do something like this. I would catch him from time to time pulling at his face or maybe push on his forearm, making his smooth worn skin wrinkle awkwardly. It was strange behavior usually seen that Wednesday or Thursday morning when he really looked more worn out. I always thought maybe he had more elasticity than most people. I cleared my throat and got up, pretending to stretch before making my way towards the stairs. For a second he looked up at me with a smile and then back at the window, putting his leg down. He didn’t seem to think I saw him.
As I walked up the stairs, I decided to pause right at the top step where I was completely out of sight and bent down to peek at him. What he did next was a bit different, and kinda horrifying. I watched as he pulled his shirt off and ran his hands down his chest and abs. He rolled his thick muscular neck with a loud crack as he continued to look down at his own body. Then he grabbed a fist full of his flesh and stretched it away from him with both hands. He sighed and rolled his eyes back as he pulled and pushed at his loose skin as if adjusting an uncomfortably tight shirt. His smooth skin wrinkled and sagged as it slid around his muscular form. It was so alien to watch my eyes really couldn’t process what I was seeing.
With my heart pounding I quickly and quietly backed away from the stairs, making sure I stayed away from areas I knew would make a noise. Thank god we had carpet. I quickly and quietly turned my doorknob and soundlessly closed the door behind me, not bothering to close it all the way in fear of making that clicking noise. I was breathing hard now. I sat on my bed with the door slightly ajar and just waited, pretending to stare at my phone.
Finally Dalton came up the stairs. I watched through the crack as his massive muscular form stopped for a moment in front of my bedroom door. He just stood there, facing away down the hall towards his bedroom door with his head tilted as if listening to something. His cheeks looked more sunken now, and there were deep wrinkles around his thick neck. He looked so creepy and there was this weird feeling in the air. It was as if the bedroom became colder and the shadows grew longer. I just stared hard at my phone pretending I didn’t notice anything. I could almost feel his steely eyes on me now. After a few minutes, I couldn’t take it anymore so I looked up and . . . he was gone. I heard his door shut down the hall and that was the last time I saw Dalton that night.
----------------------
Like clockwork Dalton left sometime around midnight last night and came back this morning refreshed and normal looking, with a smile on his perfect face. He even was a bit more talkative than normal. I tried to act casual, but yesterday really freaked me out. I paid more attention to his body, trying to look for those imperfections . . . but there were none. He looked and moved and acted normal. As the week went on, I honestly began to think I was crazy. I mean I knew he would start looking sick again, and even when I would see him unconsciously pick at his skin, it wasn’t as . . . terrifying as what I saw last Thursday. Just a big handsome gross man . . . like we all are I guess.
Honestly the interest he showed in me was kinda nice. He seemed to be home more often and he was willing to spend some time with small talk and on a few occasions, flirting. It was little things at first. He would place one of his hands on my shoulder or the way he walked by me, chest out, face close. I saw him eye me more, and at one point even resting his head on my lap when we talked about the day. He was acting . . . normal.
The only thing that was strange about the week was Sophie’s tearful call on Friday. I could barely understand her between sobs and cries. At first I thought she was in trouble herself, however, when I got her to calm down, I finally was able to get her to tell me what happened. Her dog . . . was missing. She said that she let her dog out at night like normal. She was looking down at her phone from inside the door because it was a bit cooler than normal that night, and when she looked up . . . the dog was gone. What was weird was . . . her back yard was completely fenced in!
She looked everywhere, but the fence was built to be dog proof. She had spent her entire Friday looking around campus like a mad woman. The only thing she could find the following morning in the daylight, and the thing that terrified her the most, was a small trail of blood that seemed to drip from inside the fence to the sidewalk on the other side before disappearing! It was bad enough the dog was missing, but to see that blood let her know something terrible happened.
I didn’t know what to say. I tried to offer some semblance of hope . . . but we both knew the dog was likely dead. I helped install that fence, there was no way that dog could get out, and very unlikely a wild animal could get in. After I hung up, I felt exhausted and worried for my friend. I called a few more friends that day, and they said that kind of thing has been happening a lot around campus this year. There were dozens of reports of dogs, cats, and raccoon carcasses being found all over the place. Campus security has been hiring exterminators and animal control to try to find the fox or wolf responsible, but haven’t had any luck. This was a pretty urban area, so it was weird to have animal attacks like this go unnoticed by anyone.
----------------------
As the weeks went on, Dalton and I became closer. He finally revealed that he had a part time job working at the gym as a trainer, and that he sometimes had to work late to close the gym. Although not directly referencing what he does Thursday night, I feel he intended to give me some sort of answer to explain his odd hours. I didn’t really buy it, but it wasn’t any of my business.
Finals were quickly approaching, so I haven’t really had the time to ponder the wonderings of my roommate. The stress of classes and the tests took much of my attention. Dalton’s schedule seemed to be no different, although he was a bit more talkative than normal.
As I walked back from my last class for the day, I noticed more posters for lost pets and warnings for wild animals. The cool air wafted my way as the summer leaves began to dim and turn varying hues of light green and yellow. Fall was fast approaching, which would bring more students to campus. I really hope they figure out whatever is going on.
As I entered the house, I heard a deep low growl from somewhere. With a frown I started to go upstairs, wondering if it was that noise I heard from Daltons room again, but this time it seemed to come from the kitchen. I slowly walked warily towards the dining area and realized the noise was coming from the basement.
“Dalton?” I said in a calm voice. There was a shuffling noise with a meaty wet noise as I approached the ajar basement door. The noises quieted just as I grasped the handle. I was breathing hard now, expecting to see a raccoon or something behind the door. I slowly opened the door and noticed the light was already on.
“Hello?” I asked as I slowly made my way down the wood stairs. The basement was half finished and actually opened up to a small back porch. We used it primarily for laundry and a makeshift gym for when the weather was bad. It was also a great place to store odds and ends and host the occasional beer pong tournament. It definitely gave off the smell of an old dank basement.
The stairs turned a corner before opening up to the main area. I could tell the lights were on and I heard the sound of a rubbery slap just as my feet hit the last landing. I slowly peered around the corner and my heart practically stopped ice cold when I saw someone standing right there staring at me expectantly. “DALTON?!” I said, stumbling back a few steps and grasping my heart. He was standing right at the stairway entrance with that same innocent smirk he always wore around me, silent as a corpse.
“Hey man! I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” He asked with a nod, pulling one of his headphones out of his ear. He was shirtless . . . and breathtakingly handsome. My eyes washed over his tight abs and thick arms and chest before finally making their way up to his smooth handsome facial features. I swallowed and stammered again with an embarrassed smile.
“I . . . so sorry . . . I didn’t mean to.” I started with a flush. “I thought I heard something!” I said quickly, trying to recover from the shock.
Dalton just smiled and frowned slightly. “Oh I’m sorry, I was doing a quick workout today since the gym was a bit too busy for my liking today. Did you need something?” He asked with a shrug.
I saw one of his Airpods in his hand and noticed the other one was back behind him on the bench press. I looked around the room and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I looked back at Dalton who looked intensely at me. He stepped up to the landing right near me, his muscles flexing a bit as he looked at me with a hungry playful look.
“Keeping it right and tight I see!” I said with a quick laugh. My cheeks heated with embarrassment. I squirmed at the sudden attention from him. “I didn’t mean to interrupt you though. With all the talk of animals roaming campus killing pets and shit, I thought maybe one got in or something. I didn’t know you were down here!” I said innocently, trying to maintain my composure.
Dalton just smiled and stepped up closer to me. “Ya I heard something about that. I hope they figure it out before the other students come.” He paused as his smirk widened into a knowing-like smile. It was so quick, but it was almost as if he reminisced about something before focusing on me again. “I’m glad you . . . checked.” He said as he grabbed my shoulder. His hand was really warm and almost engulfed my own shoulder. My cock grew hard. “You know, i’ve been stressed and busy this whole year, and I know you have been staying up late yourself buried in those books.” His muscles shifted as he leaned in close. I could smell his cologne and the heat radiating from his body. “What if we both took a little break?” He whispered into my ear. His hot breath cascaded over my neck forcing my body to quiver and goosebumps form down my neck.
Without even thinking, like a man possessed, I grabbed his hand and practically yanked him up the stairs. Our bodies wrapped around each other up against the walls before falling to the carpeted stairs leading towards the rooms as we kissed. His soft lips engulfed mine as our bodies writhed and pulsed with longing. I reached down and felt his massive warm cock in my hands as I ground my hard cock up against his massive muscular legs.
He let out a deep sigh of pleasure before his muscles flexed again as he smoothly got up from the stairs, lifting my body into his thick arms. The floorboards creaked as I kissed him with my arms wrapped around his thick neck. He walked me into my room. With a short low growl he dropped me on the bed with a smile. I immediately started to take off my clothes. He admired me for a second, a look of pure primal hunger before turning around with a playful smirk. He grabbed his own tenting shorts and pulled them down in one swift motion revealing his tight sexy toned naked ass. The light from the window cascaded over his perfect form.
He didn’t even bother to kick off his tight white tennis shoes! He looked back at me with a smile before shutting the blinds so that the room was darker. “Sorry, don’t want the neighbors to see.” He said playfully before he jumped on top of my naked body, wrapping his thick arms around my neck to kiss me. I felt his massive warm cock fall between my legs as I kissed his neck. My hands ran down his smooth tight muscular back as I felt the muscles shift and bulge with each movement. I felt the warmth from his massive muscular legs as he straddled my waist with his knees. I watched as his tight white running shoes wrinkle and curled, conforming to his masculin massive feet. He crouched down and kissed me again, his cock teasing and massaging my ass.
I felt my cock against his hard warm body, which made my body quiver with pleasure. As our heads rocked back and forth as our lips slid in and out of each other's mouths, our tongues a constant tangle of warm wet flesh, we began to grind against each other's naked bodies. As he kissed my neck, I bit his ear and whispered, “I want you in me.” He immediately reared up with a wide animalistic smile, his muscles tight and veins starting to push against his skin.
Slowly he inserted his massive cock into my ass. It hurt for only a second before he hit the spot that made my toes curl and my body convulse. He smiled down at me, his face wild with excitement. His arms wrapped around my body pulling me in closer as he kissed me again just as he slid it further inside me. There was an explosion of pleasure that I couldn’t describe. I let out a loud groan as I felt his legs clamp around my hips. I ran my hands down his back and grabbed a fist full of his ass cheeks, which were surprisingly hard.
As he began to thrust, I could feel my pre-cum spread between our pulsing bodies. I bit my lip as he kissed my neck and let out a deep groan of his own. I watched as his ass work, as he slid his legs out from underneath his body. As I caressed and massaged the skin of his back and ass, I noticed the flesh became more and more loose. As I pushed and pulled the skin wrinkled to the point where it folded over my fingertips.
At first I was concerned I hurt him, but I didn’t see any change in his facial expression as he came in for another passionate kiss. The orgasm was coming soon, so it was hard for me to focus, but I pulled the skin up, looking over his shoulder. The fist full of tan flesh in my hand stretching almost 6 inches up in the air was so strange yet satisfying to me, I could feel my cock heave between our bodies. He was grunting now. Wrinkles formed under his eyes and as I kissed him, I noticed how his face seemed to move and slide around more and more.
There was something primal about him. The bed began to rock. I groaned and cried out with pleasure as my own legs wrapped around his massive waist. I looked over his thick shoulder and saw his toes spread out within his tight cloth shoes so that they almost looked pointed at the ends. He dug the balls of each foot against both of my doorknobs as his calves heaved, pushing his body further up and into me. My eyes almost teared as the intense orgasmic feeling washed over my entire body. I let out a cry as his rhythmic pounding became more sporadic.
The slapping of flesh on flesh continued as buckets of sweat began to cascade over my body. I could feel my lips begin to twitch as my smile of pleasure was almost held into place. Dalton reared up and looked down at me, wild hair falling into his face. He brushed his hair back as his tight muscular body flexed and his muscles seemed to squirm underneath. I could feel his massive legs tighten with each thrust as he let out a low . . . growl.
He reared up, his chest flexing and his hands massaging my pecs. His face became tight as he looked down at me with a desperate look as his thrusting started to slow down. I was about to cum. I could feel his cock expand within me. His body’s movement looked alien over me. Each muscle moved on its own as he rocked his ass back and forth. Like a caterpillar moving along a leaf. The rhythmic ripple of muscle throughout his body was intoxicating. I reached up to his face as his eyes rolled back, wrinkles forming around his thick neck and I pulled him into another kiss.
His face seemed to sag in my hands and for a second, I thought I saw black under his eyes. That thought was quickly erased as his lips met mine. He breathed in, inhaling me. I heard a deep dark rumble from within his now shaking body just as I began to cum furiously. His back arched and something shifted deep within him, like shoulder-blades . . . but bigger for a moment as he let out a growl. I could feel the warmth within me. He was cumming. He clenched me hard with his legs and wrapped his arms around me as his body began to convulse and he let out a deep groan. We both cam at the same time for what seemed like an eternity. After that, he rolled off of me breathing hard, staring up at the ceiling.
“I can’t . . . believe that just happened.” I said breathlessly. He just looked at me and smiled before getting up off the bed. He bent over and gave me another deep kiss and winked before collecting what little clothes he had on and headed for the door. “Wait, that’s it? Just a hit and run?” I said coyly. He slowly turned towards me with that smirk, not saying anything before turning away and walking out of the room in a hurry.
“Okaaaay” I muttered to myself in confusion. I watched his naked ass shift as he walked away down the hallway. That was when I noticed something even stranger. He was still wearing his white shoes and long white socks . . . but I noticed a black . . . what could be described as a claw sticking out of his shoe! It scraped the floor as he practically limped down the hallway towards his room. I tried to get up, but I noticed the massive amount of cum on my chest and stomach. The thought left me as I cleaned up, but I did hear a scraping noise as Dalton walked up the stairs to his room, shutting the door behind him. That was the last time I saw him that day. That was also when I decided enough was enough. I was going to figure out what was going on with him.
Dalton stayed in his room Thursday as well, which was kinda weird. Usually he will come down, disheveled from whatever was going on with him at least once or twice before leaving at night. I spent the day in the living room playing games and watching TV, determined not to miss him should he show himself. I was fully dressed and ready to go by the time night came around. I stayed in my room playing on my phone until finally I heard the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs above me.
My lights were off at this point, knowing he leaves closer to midnight. I stood up in the dark with my phone light off and watched the crack under the door and listened. There was a nightlight in the hallway that would help me determine when he passed. Sure enough, I heard Dalton walk past my door and down to the stairs. There was a strange coolness that settled in the air as he walked by. It was as if the darkness got . . . heavy. I shivered and cracked my door peering out into the hallway. I saw the top of Daltons head as he made his way down the stairs.
I quietly walked to the top of the stairs and waiting for the front door to close before I carefully made my way downstairs using the light from my phone to help me navigate the house. I peeked out the front window, and for the first time I was able to get a full look at Dalton. He wore a typical gray cutoff, gym tights, black socks and shoes. There were deep wrinkles under his eyes and around his neck that made him look older than yesterday. I looked at his feet and didn’t notice that weird claw, however, his shoes were stretched wide and I could see his toes pushing against the fabric. He limped down the walkway to the main road with surprising speed.
I quickly left the apartment, silently shutting the door behind me. I jogged to the corner of the building and saw his massive muscular form quickly walking towards campus. I made sure to stay far enough behind him that he wouldn’t hear or notice me, staying out of the light when possible. He stopped a few times to adjust something. . . . but I couldn't see what. The few times he did turn around, his face looked crazed and mad. His lips were pulled back into an eager tight frown that made him look demonic. I also noticed other weird things, like lights going out as he passed. That weird heaviness still hung in the air, but lessened as I stayed further back away from him.
Finally we approached the massive gym, one of the taller structures on campus. Dalton walked right up to the side door entering the gym and pulled out a set of keys, unlocking the door!. I quickly ran up to the corner of the building, thinking he may have heard me. I kept out of sight until I heard the door shut. I waited a moment before sticking my head around the corner, making sure he went inside. He did. I carefully walked up to the door and put my head against it. I didn’t hear anything. Carefully, expecting the door to be locked, I squeezed the handle. There was a soft click and I was able to crack it slightly. I peered inside and noticed the dark lobby was empty.
I carefully opened and shut the door behind me and practically crawled past the window overlooking the massive gym area. The main lights to the gym were always on. I could see them when I walked by after a party or late nights studying at the library. The accent lights however were off, casting a bluish office glow over the room. I crouched behind the employee counter when I noticed Dalton standing in the middle of the equipment room looking around.
He just stood there silently. His jaw was clenched so hard, I could see the tendrils of muscle pulling his handsome features back. His muscles were flexing as he carefully scanned the room, dropping the keys on a nearby bench. He silently took off his shirt with a low grunt. He looked up at the ceiling of the gym. I followed his gaze to the overhead windows near the top of the building, which allowed for the full moon’s bright rays to cascade over his smooth sexy body. He walked over to a nearby wall and moved a rusty crank, which opened one of those massive window panels. The rusty structure creaked and rattled as it opened, half the size of a two bay garage door. The grimy foggy windows gave way to clear night sky, which washed into the gym causing me to shiver slightly. Dalton let out a deep growl again as his face wrinkled into an eager frown.
Darkness seemed to emanate from his body, which was at odds with the moonlight and the soulless lamps above. He stood there shirtless as his muscles shifted under his skin. Not in a way that a muscular man flexes his muscles, in a way that seemed like something was trying to get out. Just then the lights dimmed, cascading half of the gym into complete darkness as I heard bones crack from within Dalton's body. He turned away from me now, his back shifted as he wiggled and rolled his thick shoulder muscles and neck.
There was something unnatural about all this. There was a grunt as he bent over, his gaunt wrinkled sagging skin tightening in all the wrong areas. He bent down in an animalistic crouch, his massive legs flexing as his feet wiggled and widened within his running shoes. That’s when I noticed black nails starting to poke through the fabric of his curled shoes. My heart dropped as I realized what was happening. Like a scene from a horror movie, Dalton was transforming! He turned my direction and his face was wrinkled into a snarl as he let out a deep inhuman roar. There was a pop and a crack as his arms swelled and claws emerged from his fingertips, raking into the concrete with a disturbing scraping noise.
His face stretched as he opened his mouth wide. His teeth began to fall out revealing sharp inhuman incisors as his eyes glowed bright red. That's when he arched his back wildy with another guttural groan. The skin stretched bucked as whatever was within was outgrowing the human looking exterior. That’s when his shoulder blades shifted down then out, pushing against the tan skin so hard, a tear began to form right down the middle of his spin. The skin heaved, sliding apart forcing the tear to grow.
Whatever creature within shifted and bulged so that the skin began to push apart and fall away! Suddenly, with one last grunt, a large black wing burst free of the human skin, unfurling in triumph. Like a cicada shedding it’s skin, the creature slowly shifted and rocked it’s wings free of the human disguise. Daltons worn wrinkled facial features were slack now as he looked up. At first I thought it was right at me, but then his red eyes looked up beyond me towards the moon above. His abs wrinkled and fell down as his now clawed hands reached up to his massive chest and grab fists full of skin in both hands.
With a violent tug, the creature shifted its back as it pulled at his chest. It stretched in his hands allowing the skinsuit to fall further off the body of the winged creature. Satisfied with having it’s wings and part of one inhuman shoulder free of the skin, The creature reached up to Daltons misaligned face With a low grown he pulled at the back of his head. I watched as the empty human features of Dalton folded down and stretched away in one swift movement. The creature revealed it’s hideous inhuman face from behind that once handsome mask, catching it’s breath as if it couldn’t breath inside.
Dalton’s skin fell down in a wrinkled heap around the creatures waist as it slowly stood up. It cracked and flapped it’s massive wings and rolled it’s massive shoulders. It was humanoid in shape, but with massive bat-like wings. The creature looked down at its still human looking legs and frowned. It slowly pushed the skin down like a pair of tights, having some trouble pulling it’s last clawed foot from the remnants of the Dalton disguise. The creature looked down at the empty suit with a look of triumph before looking around the room.
Darkness seemed to cascade around the creature. Lights dimmed and that cold feeling of regret and fear seemed to hit me like a solid wall. It’s eyes were cold and calculating. I immediately ducked down behind the counter and listened intently. I heard the creature flap its wings a few times, blowing dust and debris all around the room. The creature's claw scraped across the floor as I chanced sneaking another look. His back was to me, and he was picking up the empty skin and clothes of Dalton, stuffing it into a bag I didn’t notice it had before.
That’s when the creature turned directly towards me. I practically threw my body to the floor. My heart was pounding so hard, I felt the creature would notice me by that sound alone. There was a loud flap then a thump right next to me on the other side of the counter. I listened intently laying flat on the ground. My body shook as there was cold dead silence. Then I heard a deep growl. I opened my eyes expecting to see the creature looking over the side of the counter directly at me, but all I saw was a dimly lit light. I then heard a thump on the counter. I could see the bottom of the plastic bag with all that skin in it, clumsily thrown on the counter top. The bag drifted open as Dalton's deflated face fell out, hanging over the countertop edge staring lifelessly down at me with those empty eyes.
That’s when I heard the creature flap its wings furiously. A wind picked up as that darkness fell away from the counter. The chill was still there, but the creature was flying away. At this point, I could see the creature fly and grab the ridge of the open ceiling window. It’s black bestial form crawled on all fours, it’s wings folded back like a cape until it was outside on the roof. A shadow was cast over the gym for a moment, the creature opening its wings wide and stretching before flying off into the night!
The lights seemed to flutter back on to full power as the creature left. The feeling of fear and that dark pressure dissipating, allowing me to breath, as if I had been holding my breath the whole time. I stood up and looked around, then down at the plastic bag full of Dalton’s skin and let out a cry. I backed up to the wall and just stared, trying to process what I saw. There was a screech outside as a figure passed over the moon above. I ran back to the lobby and crouched down, hoping it didn’t see me. I stayed in that dark lobby for what seemed like hours. Finally, my senses registered that the night was quiet and the creature was gone. I slowly got up and opened the door to the outside. It was still dark, but there was an early morning glow forming in the horizon.
I carefully stepped outside, looking up at the trees and sky, making sure the creature wasn’t stalking me as its next prey. That’s when I ran. I ran so hard and so fast, the night air ran through me like cold glass. I could barely feel my legs and lungs by the time I got to my front door. I leaned against the door and listened for any sound of Dalton . . . or whatever Dalton truly was, inside.
Suddenly there was that darkness in the air. That physical presence of terror that made my heart drop and my legs grow weak. The creature was so close now, I could hear his wings flap as the cold pressure became stronger. I looked up and let out a small tight scream as it suddenly launched itself at me from a nearby tree! I only caught a glance just before the door swung open causing me to fall inside the house. I quickly slammed the door shut with a scream just before the shadowy creature slammed against it with a massive thud.
A minute went by before I heard the humanoid creature finally start to move, letting out a deep growl. It stalked to the front window and looked in. I could only make out the silhouette of the creature, barely cast by the now flickering outdoor light. It just stood there, still as the dead making this clicking noise, as if deciding what to do. Then I saw the shadow of its wings open behind the creature, causing the light to dim and pop right before the creature took off. For a second, all I could hear was the beating of my own heart and my ragged breaths for air.
That’s when I heard a thump come from upstairs. The floorboard creaked and I could hear heavy footsteps from somewhere above. An icy chill ran down my back as I realized it could easily get in through any of the windows upstairs. I jumped up and quietly made my way up the stairs towards the dark hallway. My body shook. It’s almost as if my body was moving on its own. I didn’t have a plan or a weapon, nothing. But this was a flying bat-creature in my house! My heart sank further as I patted my jeans for my phone, but couldn’t find it. I must have dropped it outside when I fell or something. I looked around, but there was that feeling of darkness again. Something told me that if I were to run outside, the creature would carry me off as one of its meals. Maybe I would have a small chance in this small house to hide, opposed to the outdoors.
The sun was finally starting to come up, casting a warm glow through the front windows. I looked up at the hallway, and it was still just as cold and forbidding as before. The silence was like a cold dark force emanating from Dalton's door. The floorboards creaked as I approached the hallway. I opened the door to my room carefully, but didn't’ see anything inside. That’s when I noticed Dalton’s door was ajar.
I swallowed hard before continuing my way down the hallway to Daltons door. Although the hallway was dark, there was that dread feeling of something evil upstairs that came from the door. I slowly opened the door and looked up the stairs and saw the attic ceiling. I was met with silence. I slowly began my ascent up the stairs. The room was bathed in an orangish morning glow from outside, but there was this smell of iron and death in the air. I got about half way up the stairs when I heard a rubbery wet noise, then a snap. A shadow seemed to block what little sunlight was already being cast inside the room, and it was menacing.
My breath was ragged when I finally got high enough up the stairs to get a look into the main room. What I saw made my body go cold. Dalton stood there in nothing but his underwear. His back was turned to me, but he was clearly stretching his face with both hands, making adjustments to the suit the creature just slipped on. Beyond Dalton, the closet door that was wide open! Inside hung several empty Dalton skinsuits, like a closet full of dress shirts. Dalton slowly rolled his neck and shoulders before slowly closing the closet door before turning around.
He stood there with that same smirk on his now human handsome face. I shuttered and stammered. “You . . . you . . . you’re . . . “ I said dumbly as I cleared the last step, pointing at Dalton as if cursing the creature before me. Dalton just stood there in his perfect Dalton suit with his hand on his hip just waiting for me to finish my thought. To add to my now considerable amount of fear, I looked over behind the bed towards the large window and noticed the corpses of two dogs laid out on plastic. That’s where the smell of iron and death came from, their throats viciously torn away.
Dalton just stood there, peering behind him for a second, following my gaze then laughed. “Oh right, that. Well I know there is a no pet policy . . . but a guy has to eat right?” He said as he flashed his perfect white human teeth while laughing. He finished with a wink before taking a step towards me. I immediately backed up, beyond scared. A frown creased his otherwise perfect forehead. “What’s wrong?” With that his eyes turned bright red and the door slammed shut behind me. I ran down the stairs and rammed my shoulder into the old door to no avail. I stared up at Dalton who stood on top of the stairs now.
“Dude relax, I got my fill for the night!” He said with a frown. I started to scream wildly, ramming my shoulder into the door over and over again. His face change to that of anger, and I could feel that darkness emanating from his fake body again. His eyes continued to glow as he spoke, this time in a deeper voice. “You know, I can see this arrangement isn’t going to work anymore. Don’t worry, I'll be out of the house by morning.” My vision began to blur before I started to feel weak and tired. “Make sure you mind yourself if you ever see me again around campus, I wouldn’t want something bad to happen to you.” He said as a wide smile stretched across his face. Finally he grabbed me, hosting me up by my armpits, his face close to mine. “Don’t say anything about me to anyone. If I catch wind of what will certainly be considered your wild tales, I will come for you, and thissss time . . . ” He said before licking the side of my face. “. . . I won’t hold back.” That’s when my vision spun and the world went dark.
---------------------
The next morning I woke up to my phone ringing on my chest. I jolted up and looked around. I was in my sleep clothes as if nothing happened. I immediately jumped out of bed and looked at my phone. Sophie was calling. I ignored the call and swung open my door, looking around. Silence. Frowning, I marched up to Dalton’s door and to my surprise it swung open and a key fell out on the floor. I picked it up before cautiously making my way up the stairs. When I got to the top of the steps, I was met with an immaculately cleaned room. The bed was made, the floor was clean and nothing was out of place. I walked over to the closet door, remembering those many empty human suits hanging up . . . but there was nothing. I looked around and finally I saw a small note laying against one of the pillows. My hands shook as I read it aloud to myself.
Until next time.
-Dalton
That was the last time I saw Dalton. He was gone. I would casually mention him to people I knew who I saw speak to Dalton, but they didn’t know anything either. It’s been a few months now and I already found another roommate. Honestly he is worse than Dalton was. Other than being a blood sucking monster that would spend his nights eating the neighborhood pets, he was actually the best roommate I ever had. Sometimes I think I catch a glimpse of him in other cities or towns I visit. Each time he looks at me with that handsome smirk before disappearing. Nights are the worst for me. Sometimes I’ll feel that cold dark presence. I know it’s him, but I have never seen the creature. I don’t walk outside at night anymore. I’m too afraid. All I can tell anyone is that if you ever receive a room request from a man named Dalton who only wants a room that locks . . . don’t invite him into your home.
